The amount of coziness for this book was a winner right away. It has a mix of Kiki's Delivery Service and Violet Evergarden in the beauty and found family bit of it. How Eva wants to help town and know their stories the same way Violet does. I also love the diversity in this town and all the shops from Ami's flower shop to the sweet shop.

Ember is my favorite along with his antics and his love for Eva. They brought me to feels so many times.

I love the strong friendships that are woven throughout this book, the sense of adventure. It is a book I will come back to remind myself to believe in myself and that good people and friendships exist. I am sad that the second book doesn't have an audiobook, and I had to buy the ebook of book two.

Why is no one really talking about this series? With all the Kiki's Delivery Service fans in the world, how has this book not blown up?

I absolutely enjoyed this novel from the very first page. It's cute, heart-warming, touching, and cozy, with just the right amount of danger to make Eva's journey seem as serious as it is for her.

This story gave me all the Studio Ghibli vibes blended with Western storytelling, and I couldn't put the book down. By the end, I was attached to all of the characters we ran into, and I desperately wanted Eva to settle down in Auteri for the rest of her life.

This isn't a story for those looking for "Chosen One" journey, or an "end of the world" theme (at least, in this book, not sure about the sequel); this is for those who want to read about a young girl learning how to have confidence in herself, and use her own strengths to achieve her goals and help the people she cares about. It's a perfect book for preteens, and if I were teaching in America, this would DEFINITELY be in my classroom library, especially if I taught 5th-6th grade.

Eva is a wonderfully flawed but endearing main character, and I was invested in her journey from beginning to end. I definitely plan to read the sequel as soon as I can get my hands on it!

TL;DR: A cozy, fast-read that fans of Kiki's Delivery Service will definitely enjoy.
