I liked Audacity better, but overall it was a good read. I think this one fell just a bit for me with the MMC and their chemistry. I didn’t feel the same chemistry between Bren and Mals as I did with Gabe and Athena. I also felt that the first book had more in depth and meaningful conversations between the two characters and while I get that that doesn’t really match the style of the MMC in Duplicity, their relationship felt more surface level and forced. I’ll definitely read the next one in the series, though.

This is such a good read. If you want a book which is super spicy but that spice isn’t dark then this is the book for you (as are all @elodiehartromance books and series). This isn’t the spiciest of Eloise’s books but there is still plenty.

As always the characters are brilliant - he may not be my typical red flag cowboy or MC member but Brendan is super dreamy. A playboy who is making changes, actually super sweet (although at times he makes some mistakes) and overall a good guy although he hides it well. Marlowe as the FMC is great. Super nice, hard working, had a tough time and a super committed mum.

A fab summer read. If you haven’t read Elodie’s books before - you need to, you will be totally obsessed.

DID NOT FINISH: 87%

Dnf @ 87%, honestly this book really dragged and by this point I didn’t feel like whatever could happen in the last 15% would be meaningful enough to read.

The first half of this book was heavy on the steam, which I guess was expected given the premise, but I feel like we didn’t get enough of the scenes like the piano scene to make their relationship feel like anything more than sexual chemistry.

Then the complete 180 of the mmc when he finds out about the daughter felt unrealistic and because it went from 0 to family visits in the blink of an eye it made it too rushed.  I just didn’t feel the connection between the characters.

There were times I didn't like Brendan. However, after he found out about Tabby and her condition I loved him. Great HEA.
