This collection of essays about Angel is great. I especially appreciated the ones about music, Lorne, cinematography, and gender.

I recently finished my 3rd watch of the entire series of Angel. I wasn't ready to let go, so I picked up this book immediately after. There are some great essays in this collection. Most notable for me was the essay investigating Wesley & Lilah's relationship, and the essay that dove into the idea of the abject and how horror played out on screen.

A few of the essays felt rushed, and it's hard to determine if that's because the ideas weren't well thought out or because the authors were given so little room within the collection that they couldn't flesh anything out.

Academic essays about the Whedeonverse are always going to be a thing I love. This isn't the best collection I've ever read, but it was still a delight to dive into Angel in ways I hadn't thought of before.
