This is not quite a romance....well, not in the truest definition anyway, but it is a still a deeply touching love story. Sergio is real, brutal and hauntingly beautiful...both the book and the man. Even the blackest of hearts deserves to love and be loved. Love is given freely, finding a home in the least likely of places and it's almost never a choice. Even Sergio, heir to the head of a powerful crime family, with blood on his hands and no apology in his heart, is capable of love and deserves to be loved in return.
My heart ached for this man. Though Sergio was completely unapologetic about his life and deeds, there was still an aura of yearning around him, definitely not regret, but something akin to longing or maybe need is a better word. At any rate, this man got to me in ways I didn't expect. He made my soul ache, my heart bleed and tears streamed from my eyes. I suspect that this story, this man, and this ending will haunt me for quite some time but I'll treasure every ache.
My only slight issue with the story was my inability to connect completely with Natalie. As much as I fell for Sergio, Natalie remained just out of reach for me.

I can't really do a traditional review of this book. This author is a fantastic writer of that there is no doubt, so please don't take this review as negative. There was a lot that was good for sure. That said, the author explains in a note at the beginning that Sergio was a secondary character in another book and she had no plans on writing a story about him. I *think* perhaps, in my opinion, he should have remained a secondary character.

I have so many thoughts and feelings right now about this one. Some are positive. Some are negative. I am angry. I am pissed off. I am sad. I am confused. None of which I can elaborate on because I don't want to spoil this book for other readers. Unfortunately, because of that, I can't give this book more than 3-Stars even though, as I said above, 95% of it was very good. It is what it is, and I can't help but feel this book served no point. *shrug* But like I said, this author is an excellent writer, and I am just one person. I am sure many people will love this book. So yea, that is pretty much all I am going to say about that.

This is a one because I could never really warm up to the characters. I couldn't relate to either one of them. I don't even want to go into the non-traditional ending.
Sergio is the third book in Natasha Knight’s Benedetti Brothers series, although in the timeline this story takes place first. Unlike the prior books, however, this book is not your typical romance. If you are looking for a happily ever after, this is not the book for you. This is a book for fans of the Benedetti Brothers looking for more details about Sergio and Natalie.
I’ll be honest and say this one was not what I had expected. i anticipated a read that would break my heart, one that would pull at my heartstrings and leave me broken upon finishing it. Although this was an addictive read and I was sucked in, completing it in a single sitting as I always do with a Natasha Knight read, I did not feel the intense emotion such a story should have pulled out of me.
It was nice to see how their story played out, to finally receive the specific details, but I had been hoping for more from it. It’s certainly a book that is best for fans of the series, for those that want all the details.
Overall, a great insight into Sergio’s history but not the emotional read I’d hoped for.
