This book was depressing from start to finish. I think that was the point too.

A decent book about terrible people. Taking off one star for all of the terrible fat hate.

Still thinking about this. I didn't mind that the characters weren't likable but I was disturbed by how frequently fat was used as a symbol for disgusting. There are characters who do horrible things to each other in this book, but the worst things that are said and thought about them is that they are disgustingly fat. That detail feels lazy in a book that is otherwise very careful and precise with language.

I loved the depiction of this kind of teen girl friendship, but wanted more from the ending.

Books about Fucked Up Girls tend to make me cringe instinctively. When I started this book I was not really expecting to enjoy it—it felt very much like a teenage version of The Art of Crash Landing, but it wasn’t too long so I kept with it. I was glad I did because in the end I truly liked it a lot. It ended up taking me a long time to finish in part because I didn’t want to finish it (and if the bus was less crowded—I could never get a seat). This book’s blurb called it fast and dirty, and that’s absolutely correct. It was at times melancholy and sympathetic and at times chilling, and managed to balance these things. You could feel the grime, the neon, the smoke; it felt too bright and hard; it pulsed like a hangover. It was beautiful in an ugly way, and the first Fucked Up Girl book that actually delivered on its promise.

Not sure what to say about this book, it was depressing, the characters were all depressing, even the story was depressing.

It is based around 2 friends Perry & "Baby Girl" and their tiny little life stealing cars and joy riding.

Both Perry and Baby Girl start getting messages from "Jamie" and their friendship is put to the test.

Weird and abrupt ending to what was otherwise a fairly decent read.

This was not the book for me. Not only did I not care about Perry or Dayna but the books layout bugged me. The characters were all awful and even Jim who was the most likable was meh. Trigger warnings for rape as well as some crappy representation of the disabled.
