I picked it up without knowing anything about it. When it turned out to be about vampires (I should've guessed) I was dismayed. But it turned out okay! Good chemistry between the leads and some fun action. And sex. So much sex.

I actually looked at this book in the bookstore, it was recommended by Amazon on my kindle, I put it back down thinking that really not the normal kind of book I read. it was in a paranormal romance section. well I saw it again on a recommendation list and thought I'll just download it to check it out. two days later I finished it. I loved this book so much I cannot wait to see what Bones does in the second book. I grew up watching Buffy so the parallels between Bones and Spikes is definitely one of the good things about this book.

This has been on my to read list for a while and while I felt the writing was better than the likes of the trublood series, I failed to enjoy the book as much. But I'm more of a werewolf or shifter gal than a vampire gal so that may make me slightly biased. The world building was ok, the characters were decent enough. I just struggled to care for them more than i needed too. Unless I spot the series cheaply I'm not likely to run out and locate the next book in Cat's chapter. Each to their own but this just didn't suit me.

For some reason this never saved!

DNF-ed it after 60% because I had so many irritations about the characters and the (almost non-existing) plot I decided this wasn't worth my time.

If you don't like:
- stereotyped English words to make a character sound British (ello luv)
- a 22 year old heroine who sleeps in the same room as her mom and has the mindset of a 15 year old and who is inconsistently smart/stupid
- characters without a back story (apart from what they literally tell us in the book) and with no interests or hobbies
- a book that somehow feels old and dated even though it's not that old
- an insta love story that has no time for tension but jumps in very quickly and rather dull sex scenes.
then this isn't the book for you.

I've read this entire series at least a dozen times. The audiobook is phenomenally done and I've listened to the entire series almost as many times as I've read it. Seriously, it never gets old. Definitely a romcom, it's packed with action, enemies to lover (well, more so that Cat sees Bones as the enemy), and a whole lot of laughs. I love that Cat is a kick ass heroine who is innocent as much as she's far from innocent when it comes to taking down vampires. Her sometimes childish vocabulary of profanity is endearing and I absolutely loved watching her hatred of Bones and all Vampire kind evolve and grow to an understand once her ignorance was stripped away. The hate she had for what she was, something engrained into her by her mother as if she needed to atone for her own existence, became a self love and acceptance. Both MCs were high entertaining. The sex scenes weren't obscenely graphic. It was definitely graphic, but tastefully done, in my opinion. (I'm no prude by any stretch but some may appreciate the mention. I appreciate the imagery, lol.) Fantastic read, the entire series... I can't say enough about all the things I love about it.

Pretty epic. Interesting characters, lots of action, decent plot, and a very steamy romance. Could you ask for more?

Its been far too long since a series has interested me as much as this series has. I love the characters, Cat and Bones are exquisite. Cynical, dangerous, deadly, my kind of group. The story is a good one, twist and turns, some things u can see coming, but they come in a way that is to good to be dissapointed. Jeaniene Frost knows how to deliver a story with a punch of fun, romance, and most of all she knows how to keep you staking the pages one by one.
