Next up on my to read list. Really looking forward to this one.
I could not do a book blog and not do a review of this wonderful, funny, sexy, and captivating series. If you are a fan of vampire fiction that is far away from the traditional or predictable this is a great one to read. This is also known as the Cat and Bones series, they are the main characters who are the center of this story line. Cat is a kick ass, half vampire who has decided that the only good vampire is a truly dead vampire and Bones is an old vampire who just happens to be a bounty hunter for his own kind and a strong sense of self preservation. There are ghouls, witches, and various other scary types in this series and they are well integrated into Frost's stories. I love that you can almost believe what's happening in the world of Cat and Bones. All of the books in this series have laugh out loud moments and there are also some genuinely sad moments. The secondary characters are so interesting that she has written two spin off novels to develop their story lines. In my humble opinion this is a not to be missed series for modern vampire fans.

UF where half-vamp vampire hunter learns maybe they aren't all bad. Entertaining and read extremely well by narrator--but dang, did that Cockney accent grate.
I’ve been reading a lot more urban fantasy lately and I’m really enjoying it. When I found Halfway to the Grave I thought it sounded really good. I’m happy to say that not only did Halfway to the Grave sound good but it actually was good.
I really liked the story line of Halfway to the Grave. It was really interesting and I thoroughly enjoyed reading through to find out who was behind certain events and whether or not Cat would ever come across her father.
As far as the characters go I really liked Cat, she was tough but at the same time her stubbornness drove me a little crazy. I did however, absolutely love Bones. I loved how he was mysterious but also a really nice guy for a vampire.
Overall, I really enjoyed Halfway to the Grave and I look forward to continuing on with the rest of the series.

For an adult paranormal romance novel, Halfway to the Grave was fantastic. It is a struggle to find a book within the genre that features a fairly reasonable romance, a logical storyline, and a solid mythological/fantasy element. Halfway to the Grave featured a good balance of all three.
Note: I listened to the audiobook and the narrator is horrible! I do not know how a professional voice actor could use the British and "Ohio" accent she did and still find work. Bone's accent was a stereotypical shallow Cockney accent, while Cat's family sounded like Sarah Palin.

I had heard a lot of good things about this series. I'm glad I finally picked it up and gave it a listen. I enjoyed the humor and banter between Kat and Bones. I also enjoyed the action and intrigue. I didn't even mind the small variations in vampire lore (at least they didn't sparkle!) I will certainly read more of this series. I have to find out more about what is going on in my home state of Ohio! ;- )
DNF'd at 48%
I don't think there's anything particularly wrong with this novel. But also nothing great. I DNF'd solely because I lost interest and then it automatically returned to the library.

Pure fluff and enjoyment, that's what this is. I do wish Frost had tried at least a little bit to have Bones not be a fanfic version of Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but other than that I really enjoyed it. And let's be honest, Spike was one hell of a vamp, so it doesn't hurt all that much to put his body on Bone's character. It was more distracting than anything.
Don't expect deep thought, surprising twists or stellar writing. Do expect some good humor, good action (both fighting and sex wise) and good characters that you can get behind and root for.
I'm definitely picking up the next installment.
