This is a novella (in between book) and it was cute....of course Maddie stumbles (literally) across another dead body and ends up helping solve the crime. Even though this is short, the story flows well and it is Maddie, Dana and Marco's normal situations that they find themselves involved with!

I never would have guessed the killer, Gemma does a great job of leaving some clues but not enough that you might guess whodoneit.

Although this series is known for silly light hearted fun and none of the stories are ever realistic this one was too silly for me because I just couldn't get past:
1. Ramirez volunteering to 'consult' while on his honeymoon. It wasn't like the island doesn't have a police force.
2. That his consulting seemed to require him to work full time - i mean attending the autopsy. He was a fricking visiting consultant not the lead detective. Consulting means the actual police would investigate then run stuff by him and look for suggestions which could have been a 1 hour meeting each day.
3. Dana and Marcus crashing Maddie's freaking honeymoon and expecting to be welcome. NO ONE is that oblivious. NO ONE!!
4. Maddie doesn't immediately tell them to take a hike but wanders off for mai tai's .

These things annoyed me so much that I couldn't relax and enjoy the story for the piece of fluff it is.

Taking place right after the wedding, Jack and Maddie are off on their honeymoon to a resort in Tahiti. Jack is actually relaxed for once, even leaving his cell at home in LA so as not to be disturbed by his workplace while he and Maddie spend some very much needed alone time. But as usual, Maddie finds a dead body and Jack is asked by the local police to consult. If Maddie wants to salvage any of her honeymoon, she needs to find the killer asap. I liked this part....up until Maddie's BFFs Dana and Marco show up unannounced to help Maddie. Dana and Marco don't get that a honeymoon is not a party where friends are invited....that was the wedding reception. Needless to say, they come up with a hare-brained idea to catch the killers, but ends up leaving Maddie alone and in danger. Luckily, Jack finds her with no help from the BFFs.

An okay story, I just wanted a story with Maddie and Jack without everyone else.
