Inspiring for minimizing. Gets too precut, both religiously and inspirationally.

I have had this book recommended to me many times. I finally decided to pick it up this year around the time I usually get into a decluttering mood. There is a lot of good in this book for sure and I think it would be a great place to start for someone who wants to dip their toes into minimalism and think about why they have so much stuff in the first place. There were helpful tips on how to think about the things you own and lots of personal anecdotes of people who had found freedom from their stuff. I found the book to be a bit lacking on actual advice on the steps to follow to get rid of things, which I think I struggle with more often than the why behind owning things. His idea of putting things in a box to get rid of in the future was helpful, though, as kind of an intermediate step. That is somehow easier for me than just tossing them or donating right away sometimes. Overall, a good addition to the books I have read on minimalism and decluttering but maybe not my favorite.

It was alright. Wish the book focused exclusively on minimalism.

I really appreciated how this book dealt with the scope of minimalism.

Great little read - so much to think about & work through on my quest to minimalism.
