Short, perhaps too short. A good overview of minimalism and why it is a good idea. Not much in the way of practical tips. Deserves an honourable mention for integrating Christianity without being irritating or preachy as is so often the case. All in all, a good read.

A great book for anyone exploring the idea of minimalism.

Discusses minimalism from a Christian perspective. Good information and strategies but also great for discussing more of the why if minimalism and why it matters

I think this was a good look into minimalism. I've always said that I'll never be one but Becker definitely put together a good argument for it.

It also made me realise I do have some tendencies that are minimalist already, which I never would have believed. Like only buying shampoo when I only have one left, because one day I realised you only ever need two bottles of shampoo and owning more is just a waste of space.

The bit I liked most was about being able to give more. I see a lot of minimalist blogs that seem self-absorbed, so I liked that the writer looks at what others can gain not just what he will gain.

I liked that the writer read it out himself. That helps me when reading non-fiction.

I'm not an atheist but the religious stuff made me feel the book wasn't really aimed at me. I think it would be better to leave it out or market it specifically for Christians.

I truly expected more from this book. I’m not sure what I was looking for - I am a few years into my minimalism journey so perhaps I’d have a different opinion if that were not the case - but I didn’t find anything new in here. Even for someone starting out with minimalism, I found the book far more preachy than useful. I follow the author’s Facebook page and there was nothing in this book that hasn’t already been shared there, nothing new.

Helpful advice. Not incredibly written. As for folks complaining about his Christian perspective...please just put the book down. The whining about Christian writers writing Christian books is ridiculous. You'd be better off complaining about the grass being green or the sky being blue.

If you want to live with less stuff in your home, this is the book for you. This is a great book that will help you on your journey to a less cluttered, or even minimalist, lifestyle. I've been following his advice, removing lots of unnecessary things from my home, and my life seems much better already. Less clutter, less cleaning, and more peace in my home.
