A fun book, spooky, thrilling and mysterious. I enjoyed the twist at the end

That was such a crazy book! You weren’t sure who to trust, everyone was crazy in one way or another. Verity’s chapter were SO hard to read. As a parent, I felt physical pain reading them. If I were in Jeremy’s shoes, I would’ve done the same. This book has lots of trigger warnings: abortion, child death, suicide, violence. It is not the usual Colleen Hoover book but it was a fantastic, edge of your seat thriller.

meh didn't really like the book and it was very predictable. I feel like a lot of the appeal comes from the scandal of it all but it's just poorly written and I’m not super interested in this sensationalism. feels like it's just a bunch of sad and dark stuff thrown in together for a sad and dark soup

I can’t believe that I’m giving this book 5 stars but it is what it is…

I always knew that Colleen is an incredible writer but this book acceded my expectations. I just finished reading it and I feel like I need to throw up.

The plot of the book was terrible, I am not a fan of cheating. Having Low being a home wrecker was not something I liked and even more Jeremy actually starting the affair with her.

Lowen is noisy and has her nose up in everything but the things she is supposed to do, write the books she’s supposed to.

The whole book is based on the relationship of Lowen and Jeremy, eventhough you could get the impression in the first few chapters that it really focuses on Low‘s career (which I would have preferred to read more about than this affair).

What I think was interesting is that we don’t get clarification on what really happened, we have the manuscript of verity but then there’s also the letter addressed to Jer. Personally I believe the manuscript over her letter but only because I saw through the whole book, just how manipulative Verity was and honestly I can see how she’d do the things she wrote about. Maybe the letter was a hope for saving her „marriage“ even though it was more obsession from her side than anything else.

Even though I HATE the plot line (mostly because of the cheating), I can’t help but see the work Colleen put in it. I don’t know what it is about her writing but it just makes me addicted to her books. As soon as I start one I cannot put it down until I finished it and that’s what makes a Book Good!

I read this book cover to cover in 4 hours. This is a book that keeps you page turning. If you normally read thrillers but no spice, this is not the book for you as the 2 main plots revolve around spice.

I would say the ending was anti-climatic for me personally, which is why this is not a 5 star review. I think the way things ended with Verity (not per say the letter), that it could have been MORE. I also want to know more about April, did she know all about Verity? That leaves me wondering.

Oh, & I’m 10000000% team manuscript.

The book is so weird and it felt like it was just going in random directions towards the end. I also feel like this book romanticizes toxic relationships which isn’t ok.
