SPOILERS!
I normally don’t review books that I don’t finish ,but this book was on a whole nother level. Surprisingly enough the stalking part of the book is the only part that wasn’t uncomfortable for me, like he was an interesting stalker, but how he didn’t know about her injury was kinda wild. Or didn’t guess her dad was abusive. What made me uncomfortable was the blatant police brutality that was shown by the MMC and one of his friends who is in the 3rd book of the series. The whole scene with the guy they pulled over and “roughed” him up for like expired tags is crazy. Then the same friend sleeps with an 18 year old who is still in highschool. Nevermind him getting caught at her house despite him having his own place. That was when I put the book down and I knew I couldn’t really get past any of it. I honestly should have listened to all the reviews that told me this was going to happen, but I thought they were over exaggerating…….they weren’t. If you are contemplating reading this book don’t. I feel like Daisy Jane is a hit or miss because some books I have loved and others I'm like yes it's taboo ,but this feels illegal. I also looked at the reviews to see the ending and I guess he murders the principal ,but not her abusive father. Like pack it up sir I’m done with your ass. I still kinda want to read Stray, which is about the one friend who isn’t a weirdo ,but idk it will be a long time before that.

I read this series out of order so I don’t know if reading Stray first is the problem. Because I really liked that one. But this was just ok. The cop worship was a little cringe. I wish Violet would have found her voice a little sooner and just didn’t let Van save her. I will read the last one. Hopefully the last in the series will redeem it.

I felt like the justification lines that Van used for stalking violet were realistic, as were her reactions to him. Her life has been filled with toxic people and abuse. However, I had to DNF at 80% when her best friend tells her she should go back to her stalker boyfriend because he obviously loves her. No best friend that’s been trying to get you out of an abusive situation for years is going to send you into the arms of an obviously mentally unstable man. Took me right out of the story.

Characters weren't likable.. pacing felt off. It feels like we're in the middle of a story.
