While I usually can guess the plot twists in books I didn't see most coming while reading this. Nick is literally perfect at the end and he is my favorite character.

I agree with other reviews that say the main character is very problematic.  The other characters make up for what the main character lacks. I thought it was a really good story despite all the weirdness of the main character.

While this book was a cute and ultimately entertaining read, it was extremely predictable. The premise of saving the carnival that provides their summer jobs from closing has been done before, and I even found the writing to be repetitive, as it used the same phrases and oddly specific word choices over and over again. I did like the friendship between Elouise and Seeley, and even the other platonic relationships with some of the side characters, but I was not really a fan of any of the romantic relationships that happen in this book. I didn't really find the characters and their relationships to be too compelling so I just didn't care too much about who they ended up with, and I felt that many of the relationships were too rushed, especially Elouise's ending relationship. On the plus side, this book is really short and I was able to read it in its entirety in a couple hours.

it rare that i give a lgbt book lower than three stars but holy shit this main character is INSUFFERABLE and she literally knows it. she put her friend in an uncomfortable situation KNOWING she didn’t want anything to do with it but still pushed her to her limits. the amount of times they had to ask each other if they were good made me wonder why they were friends at all. elouise you are my biggest opp when i find you it’s over.
