Wow!! I have not had the pleasure of reading any books by Tara Sue Me, and I need to rectify that immediately!!
This story is the 5th in the series and it is about Jeff and Dena. This is about their journey.. of them figuring it all out and getting on the same page!
Jeff and Dena met many moons ago, and lets just say timing just wasn't right for them... fast forward a few years and they just might be on the same page!!
there is also great interaction with the other characters, and I need to get a jump on their books!

Reread. Dena & Jeff are longtime members of their club. They have a sad backstory & are no longer together. In this novel, they get their second chance.
The narration was well done.

After the incredibly sexy introduction to Jeff in the last book, I eagerly hopped into this one wanting to be blown away. I’m not sure it achieved everything I wanted it to, but The Collar is a solid erotic romance from start to finish.
Dena and Jeff had their chance and they flamed out several years ago after a huge, emotionally charged misunderstanding. Now, faced with some disturbing threats, Dena has run to the only person she trusts with her life…Jeff. But being back under his roof and living with his rules has them at odds, and incredibly turned on. Dena wants nothing more than to wear Jeff’s collar again but he seems determined to keep her at arm’s length. What starts out as protection quickly escalates to passion but without total surrender neither will be able to move on from the past.
Tara Sue Me is a master at setting the erotic romance scene and Jeff and Dena definitely set the pages on fire. This was a classic reunion romance mixed with a tiny bit of suspense as the threats to Dena seem to keep her on her toes. As book five in this series, The Collar was the first book to step back from the original hero and heroine and focus on a different couple. I wanted to love this book because Jeff had such an impact on me in The Enticement (book four), but I think ultimately this one fell a bit short. I think I’m just to invested in Abby and Nathaniel at this point to stray away from them in this series. Had changing couples been brought in sooner, perhaps I would have felt differently, I’m not sure. Jeff and Dena are excellent characters and in their own right, very hot but every time Abby or Nathaniel would make an appearance I wanted more from them.
I liked the slight suspense aspects that were woven into the story line and thought it gave Jeff an excellent opportunity to show Dena how much he still cared. I wished they would have spoken about their troubled past long before they did so that there could have been some closure on that earlier. Their obvious longing for one another was what made this story great. It created a wistfulness combined with the sexy bdsm elements to give the readers a love story that was both hopeful and strong. Their opposites attract scenario made for lively reading but Jeff’s mentality of not being good enough for Dena’s high class ways did get a bit grating.
As a separate story, The Collar upheld the erotic romance line quite well…I just wished it either would have been done sooner or as a spinoff series. I have a feeling readers will be getting a story from Daniel and Cole as well at some point, though book 6 looks to be a Abby/Nathaniel again.
I give The Collar by Tara Sue Me 3.50 stars!

The Collar is a Standalone Novel and it is Jeff’s & Dena’s story. If you read The Enticement you will have been introduced to Jeff. I know that The Collar is a standalone but, I would still suggest that you read the books in order. Thank you to Jacqueline’s Reads for the lineup of this Series.
The Submissive, #1 – Nathaniel and Abby’s story. Told from Abby’s POV
The Dominant, #2 – Nathaniel and Abby’s story. Re-Told from Nathaniel’s POV
The Training, #3 – Continues Nathaniel and Abby’s story
The Enticement, #4 – Continues Nathaniel and Abby’s story
The Collar, #5 – Dena and Jeff’s story
The Exhibitionist, #6 - Continues Nathaniel and Abby’s story
Seduced by Fire (Partner’s in Play) – Spin off series – Julie and Daniel’s story.
I don’t usually retell a synopsis because I feel the author already does that. I enjoyed Jeff’s and Dena’s story. You will still see some of Nathaniel & Abby West in The Collar. They were the main characters in Books 1-4.
I felt that The Collar abruptly ended without a true Cliffhanger but, no closure either and for that reason I am giving this book 4 stars. All in all I really have enjoyed reading this whole series and can’t wait to get started on The Exhibitionist.

Listen - I fell hard for Jeff in the last book, The Enticement! He is just a smooth as silk character that is loyal but dark and mysterious at the same time.
The story between he and Dena was lovely and it was very clear (as in all the books in the series) they were going to come together but not without conflict first. The collaring ceremony made me tear up.

I am not a massive fan of time travel but the reviews on this were too good to miss up. It fell short of expectations and I feel that this is like every other BDSM book out there with the predictable storyline. I didn't connect with the characters and I think the story fell flat.
