I tried but this book just isn’t for me. I like thrillers/mysteries which are led by relatable human motivation. Where you can almost understand the systems in place that led to someone acting so horribly. (Or maybe the better way to say is that I like books that help illuminate those systems.)

This book wasn’t that. Someone was a psychopath (or is it sociopath?) in a way that was never explored. And someone got amnesia … multiple times. Is anyone actually getting amnesia in real life this frequently?

I likely wouldn’t have finished if it wasn’t an audiobook.

This book was dramatic. But did that stop me from reading it in 6 hours? Of course not. Star points for maintaining my interest, but not able to tell people “oh you HAVE to read this!” It’s a take it or leave it kind of book.

i enjoyed this, the writing was a little hard to get into but was fine after a while. There was no major plot twist but this was a creep and atmospheric read

What a MYSTERY! I really became invested in the characters, and enjoyed the story overall.
I would say a few parts were a bit much/intense for me- as it involves rape & death of young people- so I would caution sensitive readers.

This Lisa Jewel novel is not so suspenseful that I would call it a page-turner but I did like the mystery and I could not make any sort of definitive decision on how the title applied or the whodunwhat while I was reading. It did keep my interest even through the few lulls on pace because I was enjoying the mystery of the characters and parts of the setting. Three stars. Average read.
