Thought I would try the female counterpart but the same results, disappointing

I really enjoy Faye Kellerman and Jonathan Kellerman-- but when they write together, the story gets convoluted. I didn't enjoy this at all, but that might have had more to do with the difference in the way the story was told rather than the writing. Not my style.

One set in Boston, one is set in Santa Fe. I liked the latter better. The Boston one is about basketball, and just sort of...stopped, rather than ending. The Santa Fe story is about the art scene, and was just a better story. Better reader too, much more consistent in his voices.

I liked the first book of the pack, the one in Boston. The story made sense and I was interested. The one in Santa Fe though? Awful. I couldn't get connected to the characters, and the resolution didn't feel like one at all. I felt like we got a lot of background into the detectives for no reason, and not enough of the motive of the killer.

Didn't really enjoy it. It was lacking quite a bit. The end of both parts of the book was very unsatisfying and left questions. Needed more development and not sure why they combined the two stories into one book.

Fairly forgettable, not much of a twist
