The pads of her fingers brush up over the bridge of my nose and then across the peak of my brow, as though she's reading braille. Like my features might tell her a story, give her some answers.

I loved getting to read about the beginning of Gold Rush Ranch and I think the whole concept created around this novella was so interesting. But I think I made a mistake reading it at the end, after I finished the whole series, because it is SO similar to A False Start. The characters and their personalities are identical so it didn’t hit the same as it probably would’ve if I had read it at the beginning. Also, age gap isn’t really my thing so

This was a prequel to the Gold Rush Ranch Series that I don't find to be super informative to the first two books. Definitely skippable but also pretty neutral about it. This is Vaughns and Coles parents origin story. It's not available on kindle unlimited like the others but you can get it through Elsie Silver's newsletter sign up for free!

The age gap where he knew her most of her life and watched her grow up is weird to me and I can't get on board with that despite him not seeing her that way and her being the one to pursue him when she's of age. None of these tropes are doing any favors for me.
