Truthfully I was a little aggravated by the ending.

A Posse of Princesses is actually one of the oldest books I've ever read. I first read it in 2020, but after rereading it, it's gotten even better. Though it was written more for tweens and middle-school, I still love it, and it's become one of my guilty reads ;).

The novel combines some of my favorite things: a competition to become queen, empowering female friendships and a hint of magic. It's one of the rare books where you love every single character. There was no big bad guy, only shades of grey. I was able to understand the "mean girl", Iardith, or Jarvas, the ice prince that "kidnapped" her. To me, this is exceptional for a middle-school novel. In the subject of female friendship, the power group of Rhis, Shera, Yuzyu and Tarvana was amazing. I loved their interactions and how they helped each other grow.

Cute and funny. An easy, light read with some good points, fun characters, and deeper themes than your average romance.

A Posse of Princesses was delightful, capturing and holding my attention from the start. Rhis was an engaging heroine, navigating a tricksy world of courtly manners and interaction with the opposite sex. I quickly bought this after reading (and LOVING) Crown Duel (which I might have re-read shortly after finishing Posse...) and though this book doesn't quite live up to Crown Duel, it was still very enjoyable.

This is a good romance/adventure story. I thoroughly enjoyed it. And no, the story is not all about love. It's mostly about being accepted, fighting for what you believe in, and finding true friends. And true love.

Absolutely loved the book. It has troupes but they're well done. A very warm and cozy read.

There were times I couldn't put this book down--okay, pretty much the whole time. With royalty, magic, kidnapping, hot pusuit of the kidnapper, etc., I found it a delightful adventure.

This book has three parts, first the princess learns about herself as she leaves her home for the first time, second there's a quest to rescue another princess with her new friends, and third there's the letters that discribe what happens afterward. My favorite part was the letters, probably because you get to see whom the princess has grown into.
