There's a bunch of good stuff here. Just be creative because it brings you joy, which is an attitude I think many people can never hear enough.

This is basically the musings of an affluent, talented, highly successful author. She is looking back through the eyes of attained affluence few of us will ever know. I take her views with a grain of salt because she's clearly at a different point in her journey than those of us who are just trying to get through the day. But at the same time, it's why I found this book length essay so engaging. Of course, I want a tried and true recipe for creative happiness and success even if I may not have the ability to replicate it in my own life.

I loved her concept around ideas.

5/5 - I think I read this book at the exact right time in my life, based on my therapist's suggestion. If I'd read this book in a different phase of my life, I'd 100% have scoffed at it. It can definitely be taken as narcissistic where the author is full of herself. But right now, as I'm thinking about writing, for myself as a creative endeavor, listening to this book was insightful and liberating.

WHATEVER I LIKE ELIZABETH GILBERT NOW.

Very inspiring! Would recommend to a friend.

The second to last chapter had a neat anecdote, but the rest was otherwise superfluous.
