Review to come....

Reading this book right now after months of putting it off feels like “big magic” in a way.

This was exactly the right book I needed at exactly the right time. Can’t recommend it enough!

Catching on on some old notes on books, two notes from this one:
Do you have the courage to bring forth the treasures that are hidden within you? (8)
You do not need anybody’s permission to live a creative life. (86)

As a casual fan of Elizabeth Gilbert, Big Magic both entertained and enlightened me in the way only a self-help book can.

I really enjoyed this lovely book from Elizabeth Gilbert upon the subject of creativity and inspiration. Gilbert gives fascinating insight into the way she works and how inspiration, determination, bravery and acceptance have shaped her failures and successes. She challenges the norms and cliches of “its not art unless you suffer” and tells stories of her own experiences to illustrate her belief that ideas are living entities that sometimes will outgrow us, leave us behind and belong to someone else. Very inspirational and motivational and I highly recommend to anyone experiencing a creative block.

Fantastic! I devoured it but can be read slowly as the chapters are very short. It's a very inspiring book about creation with a spiritual but not overt undertone

Really enjoyed this read, helped me complete my novel.

There were amazing insights in this book, but also some ideas that didn't resonate with me. That's okay, I'm sure if I wrote a book about my theories of creativity, Elizabeth Gilbert wouldn't love all of them either. In any case, I'm glad I read it and appreciate many of this book's ideas.
