Montana appears to have grown his first braincell this past couple books. Slowly.

How is it that so much happened in this book and it still felt short?

New races, more politics, sieged by two different armies, more world building, new monsters, new ways for Montana to kill the said monsters and get dirty in the process, new ways to get mutilated by the said monsters, new loot, oh and new cliffhangers, who can forget those.

One thing I like about this series is the total lack of romance. And this book just doubled down on that idea. I had fun.

I'm really enjoying the tone of these books. It's light without being trivial.

Note to the author: Did you forget who Montana was back on Earth? He was a guy capable of taking on two trained assailants bear-handed, so why did he have to start from scratch with his fight training?

Entertaining series but imo a tad weak on the supporting cast. Just little interaction outside the necessary so most non MC characters don't have much presence.

Notes:

Best book yet in the series! It was a nice continuation of the series without a fluffy excess. Good build on top of what was already established, a tiny bit of character growth & fun plot events.
