I never enjoyed reading a history book more. Despite its lengths I was happily reading along. I would only recommend this book to people that have read the Song of Fire and Ice Books beforehand, since this book is literally a history book of the reign of the Targaryen's. So you have to love the world to enjoy this.
My favourite part of the book was the reign of Jaehaerys and Alysanne the most intriguing and was deeply gutted by the following Dance of the Dragons, which destroyed all of their achievements.

I mean it's GRRM... I loved it, even though I was hesitant to read it and left it wayyy after I read all the other entries in this universe. I loved the world George created and I'm happy to visit it at every opportunity he gives me.

Despite it being a 'history book', it read with relative ease. It's also very interesting to read something that is an unrealiable account. The maester who 'wrote' it is clearly biased, as are his sources, and reading this also definitely made me question how I read our own real history and evaluate its' biases.

Overall, great book, love this universe, loved this book, can't wait to read more.

What a ride. The amount of horrible murders gets to you in the end, but overall the story is captivating.

If I’m being honest — I’m not quite sure how to approach this review of ”Fire & Blood” since it reads as more of a historical text at times rather than a traditional novel — but I will say that I enjoyed learning more about House Targaryen & I also thoroughly enjoyed the art that accompanied the text!

It was frustrating at times — not getting the truth of the tale — but I do understand that approach from GRRM.
