Enjoyed the concept and the book did deliver. Rowan and Nola were my favorites. I enjoyed each story and having them interconnect slowly near the end made it really special. The writing was a bit much sometimes in how it describes a persons entire world view through their occupation, I found that a little exhausting.

There are things you can't see until you are ready to look.

“Madeline stopped listening, her thoughts jostling along with the wheels, pondering the doctor’s pronouncement. A death sentence. Or worse—a dangling participle or an existence.”

3.5 obviously written by a book lover for a book lover. The vignettes were lovely. The subtle ways they twined together was soft. Beautiful writing. Never fully hooked and captivated me.
