Vanessa is right, Space Oddity is the best space song and “tell my wife I love her very much, she knows” is the best line.

It also is the best way I can describe this book that is full of love and space.

5 out of 5! Really!
I loved this one. I love the subject matter, I loved the romance, I loved the characters!
There is something to this, when the romance doesn’t become the main part of the book but a vehicle to tell a message with.
Would definitely recommend

Man was that an emotional rollercoaster. So many ups and downs in this book. The love in this story is so beautiful. Not only romantic love, but love for her family and for her passion. I resonated a lot with Joan’s journey of finding her queer identity and it was so heartbreaking to know that not so long ago it was so unacceptable in society to be gay. That they couldn’t live in the open and be happy, they had to hide their relationship from everyone they cared about. As the story progresses and we get more snippets of the Vanessa’s mission, the context completely changes as we learn more about their lives. The deaths of the crew members are tragic from the beginning, but going back in time and coming to love their characters while knowing they’ve already died really was heartbreaking. Absolutely loved this book and wish i could read it again for the first time

Solid 4.5 for me.
This book was based in the early 80s, as a babe of 1981 it was so interesting to hear about the time I came to be, including how people’s understanding of relationships both romantic and familial has (hopefully) moved on. So many important things are covered in this wonderful piece of writing
