A must-read for any movie aficionado. This book describes the whole process in which the movie Jaws came into being, starting from how the book was discovered all the way until the premiere. You basically get a primer on every title you see pass by during the credits, but all told in a very entertaining and sometimes shockingly honest manner. The book has aged well and is still relevant, even though a lot of the "effects" would now be done digitally.

Quite entertaining -- and all the more fascinating in light of its original release, around the time the movie came out. Also shoots a hole in the story that John Milius wrote the "Indianapolis" speech.

Entertaining read about the making of the film Jaws from one of the screenwriters (and actors) on the film set. A great read not only for the trivia about the film (my favorite being the story of how they got the shark that was *not* THE shark, and was displayed on a hook on a dock), but also on how movies in the mid-1970s were made. And since it was released shortly after the film was, it's funny to look at how Steven Spielberg and other figures involved are portrayed before they became the super-famous names they are now.

A great insight into both Jaws and the filmmaking industry

I loved an inside peek at how movies get made!! I'm also so bewildered and excited that this book based on filming a movie based on a book is getting turned into a musical. I love it but I'm so confused.

One of the best movies of all time. Finally have my hands on this. Been on the wishlist forever - but it's now available on Unlimited as well.

An excellent account written by Carl Gottlieb, screenwriter and actor in the film, on the trials and tribulations of making a blockbuster shark movie on a tiny resort island and in the middle of the cold Atlantic ocean. It was wonderful learning how one my favorite movies was made and brought to life.
