2.5 again. Nate is still boring. Aaron is boring. Dan is annoying. Blair is going through a personal crisis and this time cut off all her hair. Serena is still just playing with her long blond hair all over NYC and being beautiful. Yet I can't stop reading this series! I think mainly coz I'm interested in how different it's turning out compared to the show. And now Georgina Sparks has appeared and I want to find out what she stirs up

You know, I don't particularly like these books and yet here I am just finishing book number four. They are books that I read because I know I don't get too emotionally invested in. They are just light and easy (and I keep thinking Dan will stop being such a wimp). I'm trying to decide who's stories I usually ENJOY reading, and I'm probably going to go with Dan and Blair being at the top, even though none of the characters are particularly likable.
ALAS, I'm more than positive I will continue these, if only because I want to know who Gossip Girl is. And I'm curious to find out if the books crossover with the TV Show at all (more than just having the same characters).

Well this has been some wtf-crazy Gossip Girl book. Not boring at all, and very Gossip Girl like.

running out of things to say about these books. I despise poets. I find parts of these books really hard to read (see: homophobia, slut shaming, fatphobia ...) and I have to remind myself that these books are like 20 years old so leeway I guess?? idk. theyre still fun theyre still wild im still mixing up Serena and Blair. men still suck you get it. I guess they only redid the covers on the first three books. Shame. But also not because im kinda loving the 2000s vibe from these ones in like a meta ironic way hahaha im so smart. bye. xoxo im 30% of the way through the series.

Okay, I've drawn the conclusion that the show is better. Much. There's just too much repetition/recapping in these novels. It gets on my nerves. But just when I think I've decided on not picking up the next book there is a slight twist in the plot (or just the unanswered question), and it's enough to make me think: 'Oh what the hack, I'll just browse through the next one. It's a quick read.' They work! Right now I want to find out what happens to Blair. Will she get into Yale? Will she get over her grudge against Aaron? And will she lose her virginity to Chuck?? (I'm hoping for a lot more "Chuck" in the next one.)

Aahhh... Başka bir kitap olsa okur muydum ya da aynı ruh haliyle okuyabilir miydim bilmiyorum ama okuyorum işte...
Seviyorum diye puan şişiresim gelmedi çünkü gerçekten hiçbir şey olmadı bu kitapta da. Kitaplar ve dizi evet çok farklı falan filan ama kitaplarda daha derinlemesine bir şeyler olurdu/işlenirdi diye düşünmüştüm ama emin olun dizi bundan çok daha ayrıntılı, düzgün ve merak uyandırıcı bir olay örgüsüne sahip, karakterler daha elle tutulur ve çarpıcı.
Yani dizi, kitap serisine on basar. Okumasam sonsuza kadar merak içinde kıvranacaktım o yüzden başladım, sonunu da görürüm ki kitapların tamamı elimde zaten elbet okuyacağım.
En büyük hayal kırıklığım 4 kitaptır en sevdiğim, diziyi izleme sebebim olan Chuck Bass’in baskın bir karakterliğini geçtim doğru düzgün toplasan beş kere bile sahnede gözükmemiş olmasıydı. Serena’nın annesini de severdim, onların zaten hiç adı bile geçmedi. Sadece dizide Jenny karakterini hiç sevmezdim, kitapta daha sempatik görünüyor, göreceğiz.
Yani kitap serisi 3-4 kişi üstünden gidiyor sadece denebilir, bu kadar yüzeysel olmasını beklemezdim. Kitapları okurken en iyisi diziyi tamamen unutmak bu yüzden.
