This book was the best because I loved how Red defended and always tried to find Talin. Even after she left he was still looking through their bond and trying to keep them together. I loved when they found each other and it was so satisfying.

~ Fantastic read! ~

Wowww. What an amazing end to an amazing duology!

Marie Lu is one of my all time favorite authors and I auto-buy anything she writes! Steelstriker just really reinforced why! It was a great end to the series and have so much depth and meaning to the characters and world!

The plot was definitely more slow paced for this duology and especially Steelstriker, but I actually really loved it that way! Most of Marie’s other books are really fast paced so I really appreciated the chance to slow down and read some excellent descriptions and character development.

The characters were wonderful as always and I was very satisfied with how everyone’s character arcs ended.

Now let’s talk about the endingggg!!! I don’t want to give spoilers, so all I’ll say is this ending was sooo good! It gave me such warm feelings and was a needed one for the overall tone of the duology!

Wonderful job as always, Marie, and I can’t wait to buy and read whatever the next one is!

CWs - fantasy violence, infrequent language

I thought this book was beautiful at its core, I just found myself wanting more from it. More buildup, more action, more character development, more nuance. It's so difficult to fit a meaningful rebellion over tyranny into a duology, and I don't think it was totally managed here.

I think this book was just okay :( I normally love Marie Lu and everything she writes but this book wasn’t really giving what it should have been giving. It gets one star automatically because it’s Marie Lu and another star because think the concept was really interesting but the book was too boring and hard to get through.
