4.5ish. Before you go into this book:
Do not expect a traditional plot structure
Do not expect characters that stick around
Do not expect things to be explained

If you require any of these, this may not be for you. I really like it because it felt like a collection of short stories. The descriptions of enrichment of life was beautiful. It was weird but good.
I don’t understand the ending but idk if that’s the point.

It was good. Much slower than the books I’ve been reading lately but it was a nice change of pace.

i think this book has so much potential but just fell a little flat, especially in the middle. this was such a character driven book that somehow made it feel like i didn’t know any of the characters that well. i still think the concept was really cool though.

It was good, but not memorable.
Felt quite surface-level and I didn't feel too connected to the characters. I guess that's what you get with a bit of a loner main character. But I couldn't tell you much about Aubry beyond her disease.
Similar vibes to Addie Larue and Midnight Library

The premise of this book appealed to me but the did not end up connecting with it as I hoped I would.

I felt so peaceful reading this book, though I think it was a little too long. It's definitely more character-driven than plot-driven, made up of little vignettes of Aubry's life as she travels the world. To me, it gave me the sense of listening to the stories my great-grandmother would tell about her childhood, or the little anecdotes you hear from strangers about their lives: the sense that you're only getting a snippet of something you'll never get to know fully, but at the same time is so human and compelling. I really enjoyed most of the book, I think my attention just started to slip a bit around the time we got to Marta. The ending was satisfying to me: a good mixture of questions answered and unanswered, letting me puzzle over my own conclusions.
