I really enjoyed reading this! I don't think I would have made it through without the helpful side notes, but I was pleasantly surprised.

I used to make fun of this play was I was in middle school, but when reading it, I actually started crying seeing the families’ reactions at the end, so you know what? You win Shakespeare. You win.

Juliet & Groomeo, but decent nonetheless

Ok, this book is beautiful. Shakespeare is a genius. But how this can be considered the greatest love story of all times, is beyond me. Seriously, they just met, and he was literally in love with another girl like 5 minutes ago. Ah, and of course, Juliet is 13.

I read this book in high school because I was compelled to be a course schedule. However, as an adult I read it again and enjoyed it tremendously. I think I liked it better partially because as a parent, I can relate so much more to Romeo and Juliet's parents. Partially I think I enjoyed it more because I chose to read it. I really hate to be told what to read.

Hated this. Not just because I read it for school: because of the forced love in it.

Juliet, really? You met him YESTERDAY. Frickin YESTERDAY. Now he is your everything & you want to elope with him? NO.

Romeo, please go and grow a pair and make a life for yourself. You could have lived, oh boo hoo if you didn't have Juliet for a second: plus she wasn't dead! Maybe if you weren't such a moron the whole thing could have been avoided. Ugh.
