Not my favourite Shakespeare but glad to have (finally) read it nonetheless!
Graphic: Suicide
The language makes this challenging for me. But I much rather listen vs eye read. The narration was really well done - full cast starring Calista Flockhart.
Another reading of this play further deepened my love for figurative language.

I don't have many thoughts about Romeo and Juliet. I honestly didn't enjoy it as much as I hoped, considering it is one of the classics. There wasn't anything specifically that caused this feeling; I just don't think this is one of his best works. Being that this was the first time I've read the play, I was surprised to see how many people were willing to support them. I still don't fully understand why the Montagues and Capulets were fighting, but I will use my imagination. I also imagine that the families weren't the only ones devastated, but the entire country was distraught. I thought this book was good, just not worth all my praise.
medium-paced
The whole time I was reading it... I was NOT interested. Some parts are a bit funny, not a lot though. And I really liked two quotes, some rhymes in a couple dialogue pieces, both involving Juliet. Anyway. I couldn't wait for it to end, seriously. And it took me forever to finish it.
I read it for literature class (college) and that's the only reason why. However, when the professor showed a scene from an old movie adaptation in class... Well, I was more instered in it than the read itself. Maybe this was only meant to be performed. I wish I had seen the play, you know. Reading it was not it, but the watching, the whole performing thing, seems way more appealing, idk.

I loved this book when I was in high school, like 2005 or 2006?
Just because of English class, duh.
But right now, I just reread this book, it was alright to me. I rather to read with classmate because it is fun to do act together.
