I pretty much only enjoyed "A Bitter November". That was quite hilarious. I wasn't impressed by most of the other stories, and a couple at the end even made me roll my eyes. Some were amusing to a point, but just okay, in my opinion.

This was a great read, quick and funny. I particularly loved the interviews with various employees, and the concept that the reindeer names are more akin to positions on an athletic field, like QB for football or Forward for basketball, is brilliant.

Reading this off-season provided a bit of Christmas spirit too.

I really enjoyed the Interview with Santa's Lawyer and Christmas in July, but the rest was simply ok.

Cute set of stories with some laughs. Some repetition with the exploration of legal ramifications of various aspects of the Christmas season, but humorous still. I am pretty sure I accurately identified the story Scalzi says he wrote to make his mother-in-law tear up. Also, I love Natalie Metzger's illustrations, they are so cute and work very well with the stories.

[I received an electronic review copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.]

A fun collection of holiday stories. A few were hilarious and had me in stitches - a Thanksgiving prayer of gratitude, a conversation with November who is feeling crowded out by December's festivities, an interview with Santa's reindeer wrangler, and a list of "script notes" on the Birth of Jesus to "Matt and Luke." I'm seeing a $40 price tag for a print copy of this online, though. I don't know that it is THAT funny. (As of 12/2, Amazon is no longer advertising a print copy.)

This is a review of an ARC from NetGalley.

A collection of Christmas-themed short stories, listicles, and other humorous pieces, most of which have already been published elsewhere. If Scalzi is your sort of thing, you'll definitely enjoy. I especially liked the interview with Santa's lawyer.

I should have looked into this more before I purchased it. But, it said Christmas and it was Scalzi so buy away I did. I don't love short stories and the entire book is made up of short stories and blog posts. It was fine just wasn't my cup of tea.

I liked this collection a lot. The stories that had already been published on Scalzi's website took a different aspect from being professionally acted. One of the original stories made me cry. Not every entry was a five star perfect fit for me, but all in all, I enjoyed this.
