Never judge a book by it's cover is typically true.  However, the moment I saw this cover I knew, correctly, that I was going to enjoy reading this book from front cover all the way to the back!

The world has changed a smidge from the one in the first three books and now we have the second of Leah's duo and it's exceptionally delightful, delicious and just as full of surprises as the rest!  Once again, the reader is taken on a journey that could be compared to a roller coaster.  We go up, we go down, we dart left while looking right because I've learned that everybody is suspicious even when they are not.  We get to learn more about the Ivy side of the Green Lands and some characters make delightful appearances!  The only warning is that it's hard to put down.  It's hard to walk away from.  So maybe be sure to visit the restroom and grab some water before you start.

J. Houser has most certainly got a way with words and any cover that has her name on it - is going to be a dern good read!  You will not regret it!

I received this as an arc copy. In exchange for a voluntary honest review. I loved this book. But I've loved all of her books I've read. This book is more about the character of Leah and her development as opposed to the war that the trilogy focused on. This book isn't action packed but it kept me hooked I couldn't put it down. I finished it in a day. Which I haven't finished a 300 page book in a day. Ever. I could not put it down. I finished book 4 in 2 or 3 days and loved that one as well. Great read! Fun series and lovable characters
