I'm pretty sure this is the second time Bertie has stayed in a honeysuckle-covered cottage named Wee Nook, and probably the third time he's been involuntarily betrothed to a woman with stern plans to mold him. Do I mind the repetition? Not a bit! A fun listen, beautifully narrated :)

"If she ever turned into a werewolf, it would be one of those jolly breezy werewolves whom it is a pleasure to know."

And then my personal favorite: "Oh, that was my man Jeeves. He imitates cats."

This Wodehouse doesn't have the best mix-up-plot, or the best Dreadful Fiancé, or any potty friends. But it's FULL of great, great lines--classic Wodehouse metaphors and such.

"I'm not so sure you are good old Bertie. More like a snake who goes about the place robbing men of the women they love, if you ask me."

"Certainly not," I protested, learning for the first time that this was what snakes did.

Wodehouse is genius. This book had so many funny lines in it; my copy is full of sticky notes marking them for future reference. My favorite Wodehouse so far.

There is nothing like a bit of Wooster and Jeeves to cool you in the hot summer days and put a grin on your tired face.
It's funny, witty and absolutely delightful.
In short, a perfect Wodehouse.

Another fun Wodehouse. I must say though that I prefer his earlier writings. He seemed to hit his stride in the 1920s. This one was written in 1974 (his last finished work) and felt forced and predictable. Yet, there were still some laugh out loud moments. I especially loved all the quotes in the front of the book by other Wodehouse lovers. For example, Simon Brett wrote, "I constantly find myself drooling with admiration at the sublime way Wodehouse plays with the English language". Yes!!!

Loved this! I've read all the Jeeves books (or so I'd thought) and then I found out that I'd missed this one. Hilarious as always. PG Wodehouse and Dave Barry are my two favorite humor writers, and anything by either of them is amazing.
