Gives great context for Celaena's character. Loved Sam, sad he's dead. I want to know more about how Arobynn betrayed her - why would he do that?
I was recommended to read this book last in the series and I am so so glad I did. I love learning all about the characters and their full story line and being pulled back to the beginning before any story existed. I have seen so many people read this first and I feel like I would’ve been so confused and not as invested in the series. I liked having the last of the story coming together at the very end. Loved this series.
I think this book will haunt me for a while. (And that is a compliment to the storytelling within it.) There’s a debate on reading this book 1st or 3rd, and I read it 3rd obviously. I can see the merits to either choice; however, since I have already gotten to know Celaena in two books, this book so much more devastating to read. This is a collection of novellas distrust, love, and solitude.
