Sometimes books written in verse make it harder for me to empathise with the characters. In this book the verse made me feel móre.
I marked this book as rende, because sometimes I was top anxious about what might happen to open the book, which I actually think is a good thing.
I will definitely read more books in verse!

I was going to give this book five stars, but thought the ending could have been a bit less sudden. It just seemed a little bit too good to be true.

I enjoyed the writing this book, I loved the dual POV's of Jackie and Pattyn. It took a while to get into it tho, when reading Burned I couldn't put the book down I was so immersed. It did get a little too conveniently happy with both girls finding love with men who are way to understanding and fell in love too fast. <spoiler>Also the mother sides with Jackie at the end out of nowhere and they make up. Overall I did like the conclusion and it was a nice ending.

Book 127 towards my goal of 290! 4/5 stars does this YA Contemporary read. Whew this one is heavy, just like all of Ellen's books. There are trigger warnings for this one, so please check those before reading if you need to. More family drama! And we get an extra perspective in this book as well. Love the cover! Loved the dual narration! Highly recommend!

I did like this a little less then burned. It was still really good and I liked that Jackie had a POV. This deals with a lot of heavy topics so look up trigger warnings. I do love how the girls grew to be so strong.
