Every time I read a book by Avery Flynn I know I'm going to laugh and fall in love with the book. I always look forward to her books. She just has a writing style I love. This is another winner by Avery Flynn. I loved Gina. She's a every day woman that anyone can relate to. I could put myself in her shows a lot. I knew where she was coming from. I love the Flynn wrote a character like her because to see Ford love Gina for herself was truly beautiful. I couldn't help but fall in love with Ford. I mean that sexy cop had so many swoon worthy momentseven right up until the end. This one was so entertaining that I didn't want to out down to other things I just wanted to gobble this book. I would highly recommend this one. Well I pretty much recommend anything by Avery Flynn because once you read a book by her you come back. She will become an auto buy author.

I read the first 8% of this book and the man that the girl is supposed to end up with describes her as "not bad looking". I'm not interested in reading about a bunch of mean spirited people. No thanks.

DNR/DNF: do not read/did not finish. Very poor writing and I can’t stand the trope of an insecure female who needs a man to help her find her self worth
DNF at 10%. After negging herself for the entire portion of the book that I’ve read she has the confidence to just hop into bed with a man she doesn’t know because he left his room key with his friend? What sense does that make? She doubted that he left the key but didn’t think to ask him before she got in the bed?
This is the second, and last, book that I’ve read by this author. I don’t like how she writes the women as having the lowest self-esteem possible, constantly putting themselves down, and the background ground characters do it as well. But the perfect hero is the one who makes the girl accept herself.
Lucy could have tried to lose weight if she didn’t like her size, Gina could have gotten a nose job. I feel that there were better ways to show body positivity if that was the authors intent.

What an amazing read it was! I read so many bad reviews about this book here that it actually put me off for a couple of months, I wanted to read it, but some reviews made it look so so bad, I finally said to myself "read it and be done with it!" and I have to tell you, it was sooooo good! she's not the prettiest gal, but hardly anyone is, we're all just average, so having a protagonist that isn't model pretty in the face area was refreshing(I think she's just normal looking) tho she has an amazing body, I actually didn't mind reading how she didn't have confidence in her looks and was a bit self depreciating, a lot of us don't have confidence in how we look, why should that make her so bad a character? I think it made her human, and the people that made comments about it? We can't deny a lot of people are like that, some people have no filter, and are way too judgy and into looks.
I just want to say, don't be put off by the bad reviews, see for yourself, I can assure you it wasn't the bad book some people are making it out to be, it was powerful, refreshing, funny and adorable!! Loved Gina and Ford
