A recipe for the most cozy autumn evening: Candles, a cup of tea, The Hobbit, and Andy Serkis masterfully telling you the story as you read along. Even better if it's raining outside as well.

The Hobbit is a great example of a well-executed story written with the Hero's Journey, with loads of archetypical side characters. While there is quite a bit of nostalgia tied to this story for me, and I really enjoyed the audiobook, it didn't grab me as much as I wanted it to.

The hobbit is not only the easiest Tolkien's book to read and get into, but a great fantasy story for the younger generations, never annoying or boring and with one of the best set of characters I've ever seen, Gandalf, bilbo and all of the dwarfs are just so likeable and funny, but they can get easily into dramatic events and still be believable and realistic.
I basically never stopped reading it from the start to the end when I was 16.

No nie wiem, zobacze.

It's a classic for a reason. My heart is filled, and the ending was bittersweet (even though I took a long break in the middle). The pacing overall feels a little off, but it is such a wonderful fantasy and story. I also really like the author/narrator interruptions. It was fun and added to the charm of the story.

This shit actually put me to sleep several. SEVERAL. Times before I finished reading it but it was worth it for the sheer cultural value. Gotta read it, man.
