This was a very interesting and eye-opening read. I really enjoyed it, but some things bothered me about it.

1.) The grammar was very stereotypical for a poc.
2.) Some of the storylines within the novel strayed and didn't really finish.

Despite these, I really enjoyed the book. Great for activists. Great for today's day and age. I recommend this book for everyone who wants a different perspective on racism and police brutality and the Black Lives Matter movement. #BlackLivesMatter

I’m breaking my own rule of never rating books (I hate assigning stars to people’s work unless I have time to qualify them with a full review) because The Hate U Give moved me so much. Stunning and heartbreaking and ultimately hopeful. I can’t stop thinking and talking about it. Read it.

A true 5-star read.

I'm so grateful that I got the opportunity to read this book. It's a must read.
