Loving this series! For this one, there is another mystery to be solved, along with some new supernatural characters. Who knew ghouls could be so charming? Emma is slowly finding her way at the Supe Squad. I really enjoy the office dynamic between her, Fred, and Liza; they have really bonded. More dramatics with the wolves and the vamps, along with the simmering sexual tension between Emma and Lord Horvath, adds up to another fantastic story.

This is a meat-and-potatoes urban fantasy/gumshoe story, and I dig it. It stands out from other UF as we never hear about the MC’s fashion, her hairdo, how thin she is, etc, just how strong and capable and reckless she is. Simple light hearted fun. Excited for the next.

Not as good as the first in this series but still worth listening to. I think last time I listen to a Helen Harper series I found the next few books in the series werent as good as the first, this might be the same. HOWEVER I still enjoy them. I think for me to give this a higher rating I would like more romance and smut LOL.
