Karin Slaughter fans - don't let this trip to the past pass you by!
I've been a fan of this series since the beginning, starting with the Grant County series with medical examiner Sara Linton, then converging with Will Trent/Atlanta.
They're part police procedurals, part medical investigations, part relationship dramas - and none of it afraid to delve into dark and violent directions.
In The Silent Wife, we are treated to some backstory. Yes, Jeffrey's back - in a stage of his and Sara's story not previously written about.
A serial rapist and murderer, previously presumed to be in prison, remains at large. His signature is distinctive, the damage incurred is horrific. Chapters alternate from present day with Sara, Will, Faith and Amanda investigating, to eight years prior with Sara, Jeffrey and Lena.
Those familiar with the series and Karin Slaughter's writing know many details can be disturbing, and The Silent Wife is no exception. Notable characters keep readers invested amidst the worst of circumstances.
For fans of the genre, her books are must-reads. And this one contains some truly shocking twists - recommended!
