One of the best historical romances I've ever read. It was giving Pride and Prejudice - which I am not complaining about. Really good writing and fun/ interesting characters. I loved how we got both POV's and could see each character gradually open their minds to the possibility of one another. The rejected proposal was

So much better than book #5. Pride and Prejudice-inspired, charming characters and I liked how the Bedwyn family rallied around Christine because they recognized that Wulf needed someone like her. Glad someone finally did something about Wulf’s quizzing glass!
This was such a good book. Maybe the best in the series. I think I may be in love. This book made me swoon.
Maybe more like 4.5 stars, but this is a lovely book. I believe the story is modeled after P&P. I loved Christine, and I loved how it wasn't his rescuing of her that made them fall in love, in fact that always had the opposite effect of driving them apart. Very charming story.

This was such a lovely ending to a lovely series. This trope (starchy duke falls for a woman lower than him) is not my favourite just because the duke in question is always a piece of shit but <i>not</i> this time. Wulfric stole my heart a little, and that epilogue did me in.
