I picked this book up hoping for a fun adventure with Ghost in the Shell vibes and healthy amounts of Vocaloid and Anime references.
Instead I opened up this book to find an absolutely amazing and original story about a kick-butt Android with an amazing AI, amazing storytelling, interesting characters, beautiful drawings, and enough heavy metal to support thousands of political revolutions.
I loved this book because of its story and great character growth.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone interested in sci-fi, artificial intelligence, anime, vocaloids, heavy metal, Japan, or for anyone just looking for a really good read.

This novel is a fantastically fun romp through a dystopian Japan full of corporate espionage, ninjas, androids, and heavy metal. I found it very unique that each chapter title has its own playlist of song that all will be mentioned in one way or another within that chapter, and most of them are modern songs that you could theoretically listen to with the chapters, if you wanted to.

The characters are talk and act like characters straight out of an anime, which at times can be a little cheesy, but it also adds to the Japanese feeling of the story. I love the interactions between the protagonist, Sakura, and her "sister" Konoichi (sp?).

The plot does get a little hand-wavy in its technical details of hacking and computer espionage, but too much detail would detract from the pace-paced plot, and I think would do it a disservice.

Overall, this book is fast-paced, action-packed, fun, and metal to the core.

An amazing book! Starts a bit slow, but once it gets going becomes an inescapable ride of awesome. I couldn't put it down, was hoping my plane trip was longer so I could finish it!
