I loved the twists and turns in this book. It was refreshing to read a book about characters that are the same age as myself. I could relate to a lot of feelings at the various points in life. I found myself crying at some points in the book simply due to the complexity of their relationships and nothing being what it seems. The descriptions were spot on. Not too much or too little detail. This was a classic mystery mixed with millennial issues.

Definitely a really enjoyable read! I love how fast pace the story was, and the changing time periods/characters I really enjoyed, as it kept me very engaged with the story! I really did enjoy how the book ended - it makes SO much sense but you never see it coming! That being said, the characters did not truly experience much growth, and Jessica the main character is not the best BUT her personality fits the story SO well!

I like it that this book portrays characters not as black and white. Everyone is flawed and perfection is overrated.

This was an interesting story. I liked the mystery of it and the mix of characters. However, I didn’t actually like any of the characters. I struggled to keep track of who was who in the beginning, particularly the male characters who are very similar but slightly stereotypically different from one another. The time jumping in flashbacks was a bit confusing. Jess, the narrator was a bit too unreliable and untrustworthy. While wanting power and prestige is an understandable motivation she consistently took it too far and let it go on for too long. I was interested to see how the story ended, and it was definitely a big ending.
