4.5 stars. A great ending to a great series. However, there was a big lack of illustrations, I just love Seth's art and I was sad that we barely got to see it in this one.

We also get a mention for Hector, Josephine, Olaf and some others from the Unfortunate Events series! Loved it!

This was a good finale but all questions were not answered.

I have more than four questions. They are probably all wrong.

I love the conceit of this series as a chronicle of Lemony Snicket's early days with "the organization" and the wrong questions that he asked. As with Snicket's earlier series, A Series of Unfortunate Events, many of the mysteries Snicket uncovers remain frustratingly unsolved. There's also an eerie moral ambiguity in the resolution that is complex and unexpected in juvenile fiction.
