This is for the start of a story called Forbidden Mischief written by Alisha Williams and Cassie Lein. This was a good introduction to Asher and Zayne that meet after becoming stepbrothers. This is a very interesting story that I hope more is written about.

Forbidden Mischief by Alisha Williams & Cassie Lein

This one… y’all… So good... We have stepbrother MM vibe happening. Boy and Boy become family. Boy is hot for his new stepbrother but knows he shouldn’t be. Other boy starts getting some feelings that just don’t make sense. Throw in awesome girl best friends for each of them and you have a short story that was TOO short. It ends on a cliffy (big surprise, right??) but the book by the same name is coming!!

So alas, I wait, missing this story already and already added the upcoming book to my wish list.

A Night of Magic and Mayhem by Amber Nicole

Oh… This one was short, too short, but so good. I know I’ll be going back to read the series this and the upcoming standalone book are spunoff of, The Forest Witch Lies.

Ever and Lock are my ‘upcoming couple of 2024’ or so I hope. Just never know when a HEA is guaranteed, or not. When a graduation party goes south, Ever is forced to hide in plain sight in Salem. A year later, she is working and missing her BFF and living life the best she can. That is until Lock comes to town, a hunter that needs a ‘kill and steal’ to officially enter the brotherhood.

One encounter and you can say there is fireworks, running, and portals. Oh and quite the cliffy. 5/5 stars for sure!!!

Rarest Pearl by Bre Rose

This one gives me a Cinderella meets witches in the beginning. Poor Evie lost her parents at a young age and is raised by her aunt who never misses a moment to be mean to her.

Okay that said, the more I read, the more I fell in love with Evie and her story. Waiting on her magic to manifest, her awful aunt and cousin. The revelations that happened as the story went on, feeling her mixed emotions. It was powerful and I stayed up WAY too late to make sure I finished because I had to know how it ended.

What an ending it had too. Must read 5/5 stars for this story for sure!

Rarest Pearl by Bre Rose

This story was like a rare pearl as it gave off that Cinderella vibe except with wicked witches. Poor Evie lost her parents at a young age and had to go live with her Aunt who basically used Evie as a servant who was magicless, so she knew after the fall solstice since her powers didn't manifest and she knew no one would want to bond with her she was leaving, but the thing about fate is, it has a funny way of stepping in when you least expect it.

I NEED MORE
The tension between Asher and Zayne is so good. This was the perfect little tease about them. I love them already so I KNOW im gonna be obsessed with a full length book about them.
That cliffhanger was very unexpected to me. These two characters couldn't be more different but so right for each other. I can't to read more about them.

Forbidden Mischief

Asher and Zayne

This novella left me wanting more! I need the full novel like yesterday. It's a great introduction to Asher, his mom, his new stepfather, and stepbrother Zayne. Asher's insta attraction to Zayne throws him a bit, so he comes off as a quiet, shy guy. But just from what we were given, I know that will change. I can't wait to see that happen. Great start. Looking forward to reading the other stories in this and the full release of Asher and Zaynes story.

I picked up this anthology for Lauren Connolly’s story, Winning Over a Wood Witch, and this review applies primarily to that novella. Connolly has written another excellent entry in the Folk Haven series. I really enjoyed the competitive rivalry between the lead characters (not to mention the under current of long-suppressed longing). The brief appearances from established characters were fun without taking over the story. The story both made my laugh and pulled on my heartstrings, and I thoroughly recommend it.

This review is for the rarest pearl by Bre Rose only. Evie is such a treasure, she has a kind heart and is able to withstand the bullies. Mikal is such a sweet old man who basically takes Evie away for reasons unknown to her. Then we have Nic who is just all around awesome. This short read will have you feeling many emotions quick and fast but does not leave you hanging.

My review is for Forbidden Mischief by Alisha Williams and Cassie Lein. This was a good introduction to a future book/series. Asher and Zayne meet each other after they’ve already become stepbrothers. We learn just a little about their backgrounds, but I can’t wait for more. They are both attracted to each other and both handle that differently. I’m really looking forward to more from these guys.
