Argh I cried so much this time. What a wonderful book! And I do know who Moo is now, the narrator makes it pretty clear in the last chapter.

Second time through:
So beautifully written! And reading this for the second time I spotted all the clues much earlier. Though I'm still not quite sure who Moo is - Mireille? Honestly a perfect book.

(from first reading:)
An incredible book on every level. At the surface, a nice story about childhood and filmmaking and creativity, but it's much much more - a homage to Christchurch, what community means, life, death, etc etc. Really a wonderful wonderful book.

Woah the final moments of this book was one hell of a heart wrenching tear jerker.
this was a book built on the hopes and dreams of aspiring famous director Barney Kettle and his faithful sister Ren as they delved into the life of their Street and the mysteries behind the unnamed stories of unnamed people and the beauty of preserved memory.
Everything about this story is just sooo beautifully written, this is molto brilliant, molto genius and molto funny and I truly felt thethrillingalchemy experienced when one reads such a moving story.
