This was cute. I definitely could have seen it being 2 hours longer without issue. Yay for smart and cool homeschool kids!

Really enjoyable children’s/ middle grade adventure. The first in a new series. Recommended for readers aged from around 8 years.

I was really excited about this one. I listened to the audiobook and hoping it would be a fun to share with the boys. It's a middle grade book which has been a favorite for us to share. But, I really didn't like this book.
So many plot problems and weird pacing and tension issues. Time travel is hard to write about and do it well. I will give you that. But it can be done... and really it can be done in a variety of ways, right? This was not done well. Mostly, I was just confused and annoyed throughout. Initially, it seemed that Rahim would just search for a place in his phone and then he would wind up there. But then, later, the book said he was pressing send. Was he sending a message? Or googling? Or pulling it up in maps?
I liked the idea that Kasia had used quantum sattelites from a government project on time travel and accidentally caused Rahim to travel as a by-product, but when the agents came for her help, it was hard to follow what they were actually trying to do or why they existed. Everything just felt a little bit murky.
Once Rahim is back in 1997 and things begin to change, the tension ramps up and it feels like they are barreling toward disaster at an alarming rate and yet, Kasia takes a nap during this and Rahim agrees to go to a concert. It was like too much tension building and not enough actual impact. Mostly, it just felt disappointing. The twist didn't feel like a twist, it felt painfully obvious. It also felt like it could've saved the book if it had been introduced earlier.
