Historical Urbane Paranoraml fantasy, I had very mixed feelings about Soulless. Overall, I enjoyed many things about Soulless, the writing, the characters, setting, and even the plot. And yet, I didn’t love the book as much as I’d hoped I would. And it stems to the romance aspect of the book.I loved the werewolves and vampires. They were all fun to read and had their own unique personas. Lord Akaldama being my favorite character. The creation of the soulless creature was also fascinating. There are some good things about Soulless and I do kind of/slightly look forward to Changeless, the second book the series, I just wish the romance aspect of this book was a bit better. Not a victorian period fan.

This book defies catagorization, but is 100% awesome. I think I am beginning to like the steampunk concept.
Ms. Carriger has created an alternate Victorian England, full of vampires, werewolves, and a visit from the queen. Part mystery and part romance, this book was unbelievably good. I almost expected Dr. Who to show up in the middle. Can't wait for the next installment!

I liked this book, but it took me a bit to get into it.
I really like the idea of a preternatural/soulless as a species. The idea of being able to take away someone’s powers is pretty cool and I bet can be used well in a story. I also liked finding out about the automaton that was very Frankenstein-esque.
The love story was just raunchy enough. :)
May come back and read the others, but not itching too right after finishing this one.

It was like a boring Victorian proper English version of a Charlaine Harris novel.

I've always been fascinated by Steampunk. The clothing and gadgets are gorgeous. This was my first book in the Steampunk world and I loved it! Will definitely read more of this series.
