This is a sad bittersweet romance between two high schoolers.

The male protagonist who goes unnamed until the end of the book finds a diary belonging to a popular girl in his class, Sakura... who happens to be dying. The only one to know apart from her family, the male character decides to spend time with her and to do the activities that she wants. Shy by nature, he doesn't really get why she's so open, sunny and loving life, but little by little her views make him think and consider a change.

I might have dropped a tear or two on the tube while I was reading it on my way back home, but it was totally worth it. We don't know how much time we have left to live, so every second counts.

The book was mostly OK, but dragged on at parts. The two leads as not likable characters. It is supposed to be a romance, but there was little chemistry between them. The book does not stop beating the reader with the fact that the female lead is terminal ill, to the point of annoyance. Would not recommend, there are much better romance out there.
