I wanted to read this because I'd read it was a shining example of a zinester turned pro. But I am also looking forward to an important networking function at which Karaoke competence could only be to my advantage, and annually attend a family reunion where I've often been mystified as to what to chose. Raina guide to gaining karaoke-confidence is so much fun to read. I feel super jazzed about participating in the scene, and about diving in and exploring niche interests. Very well executed!

The aesthetics of this book lead one to believe that it is just another trendy piece of crap. On the contrary, it has some useful hints, some set lists, some history, and some other great tips and bits of knowledge that may not only lead to a good time at karaoke, but perhaps even a greater appreciation of it in the US. And I think it's high time for THAT.
